It's so hard to say goodbye or is it?

Saw the pain doc today. What a letdown. I informed him that ortho is recommending a hip replacement. It felt like he threw his hands up in the air and said, “I’m done”. Now I know it didn’t say the words or preform the gesture, but that is how his response/non-response felt to me. He really didn't have anything to say. Geez, all the years I’ve been coming to this pain clinic, it’s a two hour drive each way, and I feel like in his mind he’s thinking, “this cash cow is no more.”
